The circumstances under which a worker suffers an injury can greatly impact the severity of harm. Of course, different occupations have different hazards, and workplace injuries can vary widely. If a person does suffer on the job, he or she may need information on workers’ compensation to learn more about financial assistance options.

California residents may be interested in a work-related accident that took place in another state. According to reports, the incident took place at an airport and involved a single worker. The individual was apparently attempting to guide a jet bridge, which is a piece of equipment that allows passengers to board and exit an airplane without exposure to the elements, when the bridge hit and ran over his leg.

The man was taken to a hospital, and his injuries were not considered life threatening. He was reported as being 34 years old and an employee of United Airlines. The company gave a statement indicating that their thoughts were with the injured worker. Additional information on his condition and how the accident took place were not given in the report.

Workplace injuries can cause individuals pain and suffering, but they can also cause financial difficulties. These types of incidents often cause California workers to need time off, which could result in their missing out on much-needed wages. Additionally, medical bills could also cause monetary hardships. Workers’ compensation benefits can often help qualifying individuals with the financial burdens that result from on-the-job accidents. Of course, applying and obtaining benefits can have their challenges, and gaining reliable information on the process may prove useful.
