Workplace injuries can easily result from fall-related accidents

There are many professions that most people would consider dangerous. Even with safety measures in place, individuals who work in risky jobs could easily find themselves involved in an accident that results in their suffering serious injuries. Workplace injuries are not uncommon, and do not only happen with dangerous jobs. However, parties who are at risk of falling may face a greater likelihood of injury than others.

California residents may be interested in a fall-related accident that recently took place in another state. Reports indicated that a man worked as a window washer, and he had been working on a window on the outside of a hospital when the accident took place. The man was apparently utilizing a seated platform and a harness in order to work, but for unknown reasons, the harness did not hold.

Due to this issue, the man fell approximately 35 feet. It was reported that he suffered serious injuries to his lower extremities, and because he fell between two buildings, emergency crews had a difficult time reaching him. Nonetheless, he was rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Falls are among the most common accidents that lead to workplace injuries. If California workers have to carry out duties at any height, they could be at risk of falling and suffering severe harm. In such cases, dealing with the financial difficulties that result from medical treatment and time away from work can prove daunting, but fortunately, workers’ compensation is designed to help with accident-related expenses. Workers who have been injured may want to find out more information on how to apply for these benefits.
