Many California residents enjoy going to work. Though they may work long hours or have to contend with difficult work conditions, they may feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day that makes them look forward to their work. Of course, even an enjoyable job can come with safety risks, and accidents can easily lead to workplace injuries.

It was recently reported that an accident in another state led to the injury of one person. Apparently, the man was operating a crane at a shipyard when the incident took place. Reports indicated that the load that the crane was moving shifted, which resulted in the crane overturning. The operator suffered injuries in the incident, but no one else was harmed in the event.

The man, who was reported as being 35 years old, suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital to be treated. The injuries were not considered life-threatening. One person who was at the accident site stated that the incident resulted in the man breaking his leg. The report also stated that the accident was still under investigation.

Serious workplace injuries can lead to time in the hospital, missed work during recovery periods and other hardships and inconveniences. One area that often causes much concern is the financial impacts a work-related accident can cause. Fortunately, workers’ compensation can help qualifying individuals obtain financial assistance during this time. In order to determine if a person qualifies and how to apply, gaining reliable information from local California legal resources may be wise.
