Some construction accidents can happen quietly and prove fatal

Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, and some could occur so suddenly and quietly that others may not even immediately realize what happened. Unfortunately, any type of incident could result in a person suffering serious injuries, and if others do not realize that another person has been hurt, the person may not receive medical attention as quickly as needed. As a result, some construction accidents could prove fatal.

California readers may be interested in an accident that recently occurred in another state. Reports indicated that a 46-year-old man was working on the roof of an apartment building that was under construction. There were two other workers on the other side of the roof, and when they realized they could not hear the other man, they checked and found that he had fallen off the roof.

Emergency crews came to the scene around 8:30 a.m., and the worker was declared dead at the scene. Since nobody witnessed the fall, the exact time it happened is unknown but estimated to be between 7 and 8:30 a.m. The report noted that the worker was wearing a safety harness, but it was not attached to a lanyard.

The family of the man killed in this incident is undoubtedly devastated. When construction accidents have serious or fatal outcomes, it can be a lot to process. After a fatal event, the surviving families of California workers killed on the job may have reason to pursue workers’ compensation benefits. Gaining information on survivors’ benefits and how to apply for them may be useful to interested parties.
