Small explosion leads to workplace injuries

On Behalf of | Dec 3, 2019 | Workplace Injuries

Many California workers go about their day with a lot on their minds. They may be looking forward to getting off work on time, thinking about lunch, contemplating personal matters or simply focusing on their work-related tasks. Many workers do not often dwell on the possibility of being involved in an on-the-job accident, but unfortunately, workplace injuries can occur without a moment’s notice.

It was recently reported that a sudden accident in another state resulted in one worker suffering injuries. Apparently, the incident occurred at a trucking company, and one worker was attempting to cut the top off of a 55-gallon barrel. Details were not given in the report regarding what was inside the barrel at the time. Nonetheless, a small explosion occurred while the worker was cutting the barrel.

The incident resulted in the individual suffering cuts to his face. It was not mentioned whether anyone else may have suffered injuries or whether the man suffered any additional harm. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment after the incident. The report noted that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration would investigate the incident.

As this situation shows, workplace injuries can take place in an instant. Workers may not always anticipate what actions could cause a serious accident, and many people could end up injured in unpredictable events. If California workers suffer injuries while on the job, they may have reason to pursue workers’ compensation benefits. Because it can be difficult to handle paperwork and related matters while recovering from injuries, affected parties may want to enlist the help of attorneys experienced in this area of law.
