Providing Quality Medical Care For Injured Workers
When an on-the-job injury sends an injured worker seeking medical care, they often do not know where to turn. It is important for your future that you enlist the help of qualified, specialized doctors in order to ensure that your injury is properly treated.
If you are not getting the necessary help for your work injury and need guidance in finding a doctor, we can help. At Dixon & Daley, LLP, near Whittier, our firm has extensive experience handling all aspects of workers’ compensation injury cases. For more than 40 years, we have been providing comprehensive assistance to injured workers throughout California. Our lawyers can walk clients through the process of seeking the benefits they need and getting the medical treatment their injuries require.
Medical Provider Networks (MPN)
In order to diagnose and treat work injuries, California has created a network of medical and health care providers (MPN). These Medical Provider Networks are approved by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC). Most, but not all employers in California, have an approved MPN. If the employer has an approved MPN, it is required that an injured employee use a medical provider who is in the MPN. It is important that you select a medical provider in the MPN who is specialized in treating the injuries you have suffered. It is also important that the doctor selected within the MPN takes the time to listen to you and treat all of your injuries, and not simply take direction or orders from the insurance company or your employer.
The lawyers at Dixon & Daley, LLP, have decades of experience in handling workers’ compensation claims, and are familiar with most every doctor in approved Medical Provider Networks (MPN). We will take action to ensure that you are treated by a doctor who has the appropriate training and specialization, and who will listen and care about your recovery.
While your employer may have an approved MPN, there are circumstances that allow an employee to treat “outside” the MPN, and we will provide the necessary guidance and direction so that you have the opportunity to return to your normal life as quickly as possible.
Delayed Or Denied Benefits
In some situations, injured workers are unable to go to the doctors they need to see due to delayed or denied workers’ compensation claims. While this is an unfortunate situation, all is not lost. It is possible to appeal a denied workers’ compensation claim and take action to see that all benefits owed to the worker are received in a timely fashion. Our firm can fight to obtain the necessary orders and awards.
