Those who work in show business often become experts at creating illusions, especially involving the illusion of danger. While most sets in Los Angeles where shows are filmed are typically safe places, two crew members recently suffered workplace injuries. Firefighters responded to the scene.
The incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. one evening in late June. According to a firefighter with the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident happened on a set to film a show for Amazon Prime. The spokesperson claims that a large fan used for ventilation fell, striking two people.
One of the victims reportedly suffered a critical injury to his head. While the extent of the injuries suffered by the second victim is unclear, he reportedly suffered a leg injury. The set is said to be used for a show called “Good Girls Revolt.”
Workplace injuries, especially injuries to a person’s head, can have serious, life-long consequences. Recovery is often slow, requiring extensive medical intervention, resulting in debt that can quickly become overwhelming. Workers’ compensation insurance benefits can help these two victims in Los Angeles ensure that their financial needs are met while they seek treatment and recover from their injuries; however, when a person is injured, fighting for fair compensation is often the last thing he or she wants to do. In some cases — including cases of severe head injuries — victims are unable to fight on their own behalf. Fortunately, there are professionals available with experience with the process who can help these victims seek the compensation to which they are entitled.
