Regardless of what occupations people in California have, they likely face hazards in their workplaces. The degree of risk varies according to the type of occupation. Those who work in automobile repairs shops that utilize lifts, for example, could be seriously injured due to the size of the vehicles they are working to repair. Unfortunately, one man in a different state is currently recovering from workplace injuries following an accident that sent him to the hospital.

The accident happened just before 9 a.m. one morning in late August. According to reports, the 37-year-old victim was at a business called Tranz Shop. A truck on a lift reportedly slipped, striking the man.

Emergency personnel arrived, but a coworker had extricated the victim from under the vehicle prior to their arrival. Due to his injuries, the man, whose identity police delayed releasing, was airlifted to the hospital. The extent of his injuries and his prognosis are unclear.

While organizations such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration attempt to avoid such workplace accidents by having safety regulations in place and fining and/or citing companies that fail to meet such standards, accidents can still happen. Unfortunately, workplace injuries often create a precarious financial situation as victims can require expensive medical treatment and suffer from lost wages. As a result, California requires employers to provide workers’ compensation insurance benefits to protect employees financially in the event of such an accident. An experienced attorney can help these victims seek the full benefits they deserve.
