Thanks to the advances of medical technology, many people in California who are injured at work are able to receive treatment and are soon as good as new. Unfortunately, not all people suffering from workplace injuries are able to receive treatment and be cured. In some cases, such as those involving head injuries, a worker is never able to fully heal. One out-of-state man is now fighting for his life after a workplace accident left him with serious injuries.
While most people were finalizing their Thanksgiving plans, the family of a 24-year-old was likely gathering at the hospital. Reports indicate that emergency responders were called to the scene of a workplace accident at Bryce Corp. at approximately 8 a.m. one morning in November. The injured worker, and father of four, has been unconscious since the accident and is listed in critical condition.
A fundraising account set up for the injured man details his injuries. Reportedly, the man suffered a broken arm, cuts to his head and leg, several skull fractures and brain bleeds. Community members have created fundraisers to help ensure that the man’s mortgage and car payment are paid while he is in the hospital. Details regarding the accident are unclear at this time. Attempts by the media to contract Bryce Corp. for additional information were unsuccessful.
It is heartwarming to see a community rally behind one of its residents. However, the man’s medical expenses, in combination with lost wages, could quickly become a significant financial burden. However, employees are required to provide workers’ compensation insurance coverage which should take care of many expenses connected to a workplace accident. Often, those suffering from workplace injuries in California seek help from a professional with experience with such benefits in their pursuit of fair compensation.
