After being injured while at work, many California workers may have questions about the proper steps to take next. While seeking medical attention should be a first priority, it may also be prudent to consider how the incident may affect the worker’s finances. In many cases, parties who are hurt on the job could file an injury claim in hopes of obtaining workers’ compensation.
One worker in another state may soon be looking into his claims options after a recent work-related accident. Apparently, the man was working as part of a construction crew performing duties on a home project. While trying to install stairs on the third floor of the home, the man fell to the floor below. It was unclear what may have caused the fall. It was noted that building materials also fell on the man after his fall.
The report stated that there were no fall protections in place on the construction site. It was unclear what exact injuries the incident may have caused to the man, but he was taken from the scene to an area hospital. He was not considered to be in a life-threatening condition.
Though the man will hopefully make a speedy recovery from his injuries, that may not be a certainty. As a result, he could experience considerable financial losses during this time. California workers in similar situations may also struggle with medical bills, lost wages and other monetary challenges. In hopes of obtaining assistance with such issues, injured individuals may wish to look into learning more about their injury claim options in regard to potentially applying for workers’ compensation benefits.
