Many construction projects take place daily across the country. California residents may be able to look out a window and see some type of project going on, and many other residents likely work in this industry. Unfortunately, due to the number of projects and number of workers on work sites, individuals could easily be at risk of suffering a construction injury.
It was recently reported that a worker in another state suffered serious injuries in a work-related accident. Apparently, the man had been working on renovations at a 100-year-old structure that involved removing a window from the building. While this task was being carried out, the window frame fell and trapped the man beneath it. It was reported that the frame weighed 400 lbs.
Emergency crews had to free the man and then transport him to the ground in a rescue basket. He was then taken from the scene by ambulance to a medical center to be treated for injuries to his back and leg. The man’s exact condition was not given in the report, and it was unclear what factors may have caused the window to fall.
A construction injury can have immense impacts on a person, and whether the injury occurs due to a situation such as this one or another construction incident, the outcomes can prove severe.
