Injuries from construction accidents could affect any worker

Many California workers have likely heard about workers’ compensation but did not give it much thought because they did not need it at the time. Of course, anyone could become injured in construction accidents at any time, and workers could suddenly find themselves in need of benefits information. In particular, they may wonder how to move through the process.

One worker in another state may be looking into this type of information after recently being injured on the job. Reports stated that the individual was participating in a construction job that involved tearing down the ceiling of an awning. During this project, the awning fell, which resulted in at least one worker becoming covered in the debris. It did not appear that any of the other workers were hit.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, and they extracted the person from the debris. It was unclear what type of injuries the worker may have suffered, but it was reported that those injuries were not life-threatening. There was no identifying information provided for the victim of the incident, and it was also unclear what may have caused the awning to collapse. More information may be available at a later time.

It is common for individuals injured in construction accidents to need workers’ compensation. However, the process does not always prove easy to work through, and there is a chance that claims could be denied. If California workers who have been injured on the job feel that they could benefit from assistance with their claims, they may wish to consult with knowledgeable attorneys.
