According to reports, the individuals were working to weatherproof outside windows at an office building when a piece of concrete apparently became dislodged from the building. The piece fell from an area where the scaffolding on which the men were working was attached, and it hit the scaffolding as it fell. This impact caused the scaffolding to fall several floors.
One of the workers was also hit by debris, and it apparently rendered him unconscious. Members of the fire department had to lower that worker to the ground after they arrived on the scene. It was noted that two workers were taken to a medical center, but the second worker’s injuries were considered minor.
