California construction accident sends man to hospital

Most drivers in California and across the country have witnessed construction while driving on the roadways. Without new construction and improvements, roads would fall into disrepair, making them a hazard. Unfortunately, these workers are placing their lives at risk even when the most stringent safety precautions are followed. In fact, reports indicate that a recent construction accident sent a worker to the hospital.

The incident is said to have happened on a day in late December. According to reports, three lanes of the 405 Freeway were closed. Crews were reportedly working on an overnight repaving project. Reports indicate that the rear axle of a dump truck came loose, striking the worker.

The man was sent to the hospital. While the exact details of his injuries are unclear, he is expected to recover. Police say that the driver of the dump truck remained at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators.

Unfortunately, a freak construction accident such as this often cannot always be prevented in the workplace, despite the best efforts of employers and employees. Injuries suffered while completing job duties can easily leave victims suffering both physical and financial consequences. Because of this, the protections provided by workers’ compensation insurance benefits are necessary to assist victims with medical costs and the consequences of lost wages. Despite being entitled to these benefits, however, many workers in California are unsure of the compensation process and how to recognize fair treatment, especially as they are recovering from their injuries. Fortunately, there are professionals with experience who can provide advice and guidance throughout the process.
